Sex positions that don’t put pressure on the pregnant belly and also does not aid deeper penetration should be adopted. Also, select positions in which the women is lying on her back in a relaxed position. A pregnant woman will feel more in power where she can control the pace and depth of penetration. 

Oral & Anal Sex can be used as the best possible substitutes, in order to satisfy your libido hunger.

When to Avoid Sex?

In some cases, the doctor or midwife can suggest avoiding physical intimacy during pregnancy. The cases include, 

  1. A weak cervix that may lead to miscarriage.
  2. Expecting mothers with twins should avoid having sex during pregnancy.
  3. In the situation of placenta previa.
  4. In the state where the cervix opens prematurely.
  5. A history of going into premature labor. 
  6. A history of miscarriages or issues related to conceiving. 
  7. Unexplained vaginal bleeding or spotting.
  8. Leaking amniotic fluids.

Also, it is of utmost importance to protect the baby from Sexually Transmitted Diseases (STD’s) so it is important to practice safe and protected sex. 

Effects of Pregnancy on Sex Drive 

During Pregnancy, a human body goes under several physical & hormonal changes which has an adverse effect on the sexual drive of the new mom. With the newborn baby comes a lot of responsibilities and hectic schedules, the mom is obviously exhausted and clearly doesn’t feel like getting intimate. 

 Also if the baby was delivered through a c-section, it is ultimately adviced by the doctor not to practice vaginal intercourse for at least 8 weeks. 

Pregnancy can also affect the sexual drive of their partner, some might feel attracted to their pregnant partners due to the changes in their body such as an increase in their breast size. 

Communication is the only key to make things work between the partners.
